Jakarta, October 4, 2022 – On Monday, October 3, 2022, an unusual incident occurred at the Agung Toyota dealership in Sipin, Jambi. A married couple named Agus Riyanto and Emilia purchased a car using a Rp 1,000 coin. The Rp 173 million purchase of the Toyota Calya was achieved through savings from selling groceries for more than two years.

In its 50 years as a Toyota main dealer in Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, the Riau Islands, and Bali, Agung Toyota has experienced this phenomenon for the first time. Agung Concern, Agung Toyota’s holding company, expressed its appreciation and positive response to customers.

The story begins when Agus and his wife arrived on a motorcycle at the Agung Toyota Sipin dealership in Jambi. The man was carrying several jars and transparent bottles filled with coins. After completing the necessary administrative preparations, the Agung Toyota sales team began counting each coin.

Agus calculated the total amount of Rp 18 million in Rp 1,000 bills, adding to the Rp 150 million previously paid. The counting process took approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, from their arrival at 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
